If you timely requested an extension to file your 2025 individual federal income tax return, your extended filing deadline is generally October 15, 2026. Now is the time to gather any remaining documents and get your return ready for filing.

If you timely requested an extension to file your 2025 individual federal income tax return, your extended filing deadline is generally October 15, 2026.
If you have not yet completed your return, now is the time to gather any remaining tax documents, review your information, and make sure everything is ready for filing.
Remember: an extension gave you additional time to file your return, but it did not extend the time to pay any taxes owed. Taxes due were generally required to be paid by the original April filing deadline.
